Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology requires knowledge of normal female embryological development, endocrine function around adolescent years, fertility, the impact of female genital system abnormalities on gender identity and mental health, and the medical and surgical management of these systems.

PAG is a relatively new subspecialty within the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology and encompasses gynecologic care from the fetal period into adulthood. The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has recently implemented a Focused Practice Designation in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology.

Menarche is considered as the central event of female puberty 2. Menstrual disorders, anaemia, PCOS, UTI, STI are commonly seen in this age group. Vaginal discharge, physiological or pathological is a common complaint in girls. Pregnancy in teenagers is a problem threatening the ultimate reproductive and child health.
